Subway Changes, Street Closures After Explosion At Port Authority Bus Terminal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Subway service changes and street closures in effect after an improvised pipe bomb exploded during the heart of the morning rush Monday near the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

As a result of the incident, 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, N, Q, R, W and 7 trains are bypassing 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal.

A and C trains are stopping along the D line between West 4th Street-Washington Square and 59th Street-Columbus Circle in both directions.

E trains are stopping along the F line between Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue and West 4th Street-Washington Square in both directions.

There is no B train service between Bedford Park Boulevard and Brighton Beach in both directions.

No L train service between Eighth Avenue and 6th Avenue in both directions.

M trains are not running between Delancey-Essex Street and Forest Hills-7th Avenue.

NJ TRANSIT bus service to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal may experience heavy delays, and possible suspensions. Inbound express buses are being detoured to the bus lot at 40th Street and 10th.

The investigation has shut down 40th through 42nd streets between 7th and 9th avenues in both directions
